What is Mahāpatha Yoga Popup?

Mahāpatha Popup yoga classes are weekly 2-hour long yoga classes, taught by Douglas Johnson E-RYT 500, YACEP, and held every Tuesday and Thursday at Solstice Urban Retreat Center in Virgina-Highland from 7 pm to 9 pm.

What Style of Yoga Is It?

Classes rotate between Yin (stretch), Yang (strength), Hatha (traditional), Five Rites Flow (yin/yang), and Vinyasa (flow) style classes. Be sure to check our Mindbody Online schedule to see which class is available on any given Tuesday or Thursday. If you are new to the popup you are encouraged to try each class at least once as they are quite different from one another.

What Makes Mahāpatha Yoga Popup so Special?

Most classes start with about 15-20 minutes of kirtan (chanting Sanskrit mantras with music), followed by about an hour of posture practice (asanas). Then, most classes conclude by exploring advanced ‘kundalini awakening’ yoga techniques like Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, Bandha, Mantra, Mudra, Dharana, and Dhyana (meditation).

How Much is It?

Drop-ins are $25, but various discounts are offered for first-time students as well as students who purchase multiple classes.

How Do I Sign Up?

To attend class, simply sign-up in advance with Mindbody Online so we know you are coming, and so you can take care of payment in advance. The studio we rent does not have a reception area and all transactions must be handled online in advance. If you change your mind about attending a particular class, please be sure to cancel your reservation as space is very limited.

Where Is It?

Currently, all Mahāpatha Popup Yoga Classes are held at Solstice Urban Retreat. The address is 1164 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306. Classes are held in the back building upstairs in the Sun Studio.

Where Should I Park?

PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PARK ON THE PREMISES AS YOU WILL BE TOWED! Parking is free on neighborhood side streets: Highland Terrace; Bellevue; and Rosewood; as well as the public lot at the corner of Highland and Amsterdam. There is a bike rack located down the drive in front of the studios as well.
