One of the most striking things you see as you arrive at Land of Medicine Buddha is the large prayer wheel pictured above. There isn’t much in the photo to give you a sense of scale, but trust me it is quite large. Having been introduced to Buddhism though Zen, which is very minimalist, I have always appreciated just how colorful the Tibetan Buddhists structures and artwork are by contrast.
