New Bhajan (devotional song) – Shanti Shanti Shanti

At the start of last week, I felt inspired to write a new Bhajan (devotional song) to hopefully inspire love, peace, and joy in those affected by the worldwide pandemic caused by Covid-19. This is the result.

The verse comes from the Sahanāvavatu mantra which is sometimes called the “student-teacher” chant, and the chorus is based on the very popular mantra Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.   Here is a loose translation.

  • Om may we be protected,
  • May we be nourished,
  • May our study be vigorous,
  • And for the benefit of all
  • May we never be poisoned with the seeds of hatred for one another.
  • Om Peace, Peace, Peace

I hope this song inspires you to be strong and peaceful in what may seem to be very uncertain times. Please sing the chorus with me Shanti Shanti Shanti.

Jai Bhagwan
